What needed to be done The challenge

Den Glade Gris is a well-established restaurant in downtown Oslo. They specialize in pork dishes, but also offer several other options. Their concept is to serve quality Norwegian food, presented in a rustic and informal way. We have been working with the restaurant for a little over a year, and the goal of the collaboration was to generate more bookings. In particular, they wanted more customers during the quieter months. To increase the number of online reservations, we have worked strategically with ads on both Google Search and Facebook.

The solution

To increase the number of bookings, we have worked together with the client on both search ads on Google and display ads online and on Facebook. The thematic focus of the ads is that they specialize in pork dishes and prepare the meat using a slowcooking method over several days.

The search ads have delivered the strongest performance. They have been targeted at people searching for restaurants in Oslo for both lunch and dinner. We have advertised in both Norwegian and English to reach tourists who are not already familiar with Den Glade Gris.

In addition to this, we have been running banner ads continuously to increase brand awareness. We have actively communicated who Den Glade Gris is, even when the target audience for the ads is not actively looking for a place to eat. We do this to build a top-of-mind mentality so that Den Glade Gris is front of mind the next time they are looking for a restaurant.

After a period of analysis, we identified that the search ads generated the most bookings, and therefore, throughout the collaboration, we have focused more on these, while still running some banner ads to maintain visibility and brand awareness.
