Do we have a good Norwegian word for leads?

The closest we get to a Norwegian term for leads is a conversion. This is not entirely accurate, as a conversion also includes the sale of products. Leads are primarily a way of quantifying potential new customers who may eventually become customers of the services your company provides.

What determines whether a lead is warm or cold?

It is very common for companies to receive a number of leads over the course of a month. A person who has filled out a contact form is usually warmer, as they are potentially actively looking for the services you provide as a company. A colder lead would be someone who has downloaded a piece of downloadable content. One way we manage leads is by qualifying them into two different categories: Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL) and Sales Qualified Leads (SQL).

What is an MQL (Marketing Qualified Lead) or SQL (Sales Qualified Lead)?

MQL stands for “Marketing Qualified Leads” and means that the lead has been verified by the marketing department. At this stage, you typically filter out all non-serious and irrelevant inquiries. SQL stands for “Sales Qualified Leads” and refers to the fact that the sales team in the company has reviewed all MQLs and categorized them as SQLs. The sales team will then have a list of relevant prospects they actively want to follow up on.

Why is effective lead management important?

Having an efficient sales department is one of the keys to achieving growth in any company. This is why having strong and effective lead management is absolutely essential. In this way, your internal sales resources will be focused on the potential customers who are genuinely interested in the service or product your company delivers, and who you actually want as customers.
