Bing search engine
When we talk about search engines, most of us automatically think of Google, but Bing is also a major player in the market.
What is Bing?
Microsoft Bing, most commonly known as just Bing, is a search engine owned and operated by the technology company Microsoft. The service was launched in 2009 and is based on Microsoft's previous search engines MSN Search and Windows Live Search (later known simply as Live Search). Bing is the world's second most used search engine.
What services does Bing offer?
Like Google, Bing offers searches for information, images, videos and maps. What sets Bing apart from Google, however, is their collaboration with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT. This means that the new version of Bing will be powered by AI.
The collaboration has resulted in Bing having an AI chatbot (similar to ChatGPT) integrated into the search engine, which means you can ask and get answers to more complex questions. OpenAI will also lead to Bing coming up with better and more relevant search results.
The new version of Bing is still in beta, so you'll have to join the waiting list to get access. It's worth mentioning that Google also offers an AI chatbot (Bard), but this is not integrated with Google's search engine. Bard is also in beta and only available via the waiting list for people in the US and UK.
In summary
Bing is a search engine from Microsoft that offers online search services for information, images, videos and maps. The new version of Bing currently under development is made in collaboration with OpenAI, which means that the search engine will be powered by AI.
