What is UX design?

UX design stands for User Experience design, and is about creating a great experience for the user when interacting with a digital product, service, or system. These are digital products that are used on a PC, tablet, or mobile phone.

What does a UX designer do?

A UX designer conducts research to determine what the product should include. They then sketch where elements should be placed, and user test this with the target audience. After several rounds of user testing and iterations, they create a complete digital prototype, which the target audience tests again. Following multiple cycles of testing and refinement, you end up with a final prototype that the designer hands over to a developer, who builds the final product based on the UX designer’s wireframes and prototypes.

Summary

UX designers combine research, product development, user testing and design to create seamless user experiences for products, services and processes.
