What is a media plan?

A media plan is a detailed overview that describes how to deliver on the overall strategy and defined objectives, known as KPI´er. The media plan provides insight into the målgruppe, channels, methodology, time frame, and frequency.

Why use a media plan?

A successful media plan gives you control, and the ability to optimize and report across different channels. It helps define the customer journey and clarifies how the various channels complement each other. The media plan should be a resource and support tool to make the marketing process more transparent and manageable.

Example of a media plan

There are many strong examples of media plans, but the most important thing is to adapt yours to the specific objective. The media plan should include both digital and analogue channels, as well as paid, owned and earned channels. Other key elements such as communication objectives, marketing budget, timeframe, assets and technical formats should also be included.

Summary

A media plan helps bring structure to the marketing process. A well-designed media plan outlines channels, target audiences, and methods to ensure success across various marketing channels.
